Q1: What is LCR?

LCR stands for Least Cost Routing, simply means cheaper phone calls. On average we save our customer about 30% to 70% against their BT bills.

Q2: How can Telenet cut down my call charges?

By working with alternative 1st class carriers who have much lower overhead than BT we are able to provide you high quality calls with much cheaper call charges.

Q3: Do I need to purchase any hardware?

NO! Some other LCR companies need to re-programme your telephone system, or install a smart box in your premises to route your calls. The danger of these options is that it has higher rate of leakage due to the programming or hardware error. Leakage will result in an unpleasant surprise when customers receive a huge bill from BT (because some calls leak to BT) while they think they’re paying cheaper rates for their calls.

As for Telenet, we use CPS technology which enables us to route your calls directly through BT’s switch, then we route them through a pre-designated carrier of our choice. CPS cuts down the leakage to nearly 0% and no visit to your premise is needed.

Q4: Is there any minimum specifications you require on my telephone system?

NO! As long as you have BT installed lines we can route the calls for you.

Q5: Do I need to change my telephone number?

NO! Your BT numbers will be retained.

Q6: How long does it take for connection?

After we receive your signed Telenet agreement and Direct Debit mandate, it takes about 10-15 working days for your lines to go live with Telenet. You will receive a letter from BT stating the switch over date.

Q7: Who will invoice me for the call charges?

You will pay all your outgoing call charges to Telenet. We’ll send you invoice and itemised bill (free of charge) every month. You only need to pay BT for your line rental.

Q8: How much does it cost me for signing up with Telenet?

NOTHING!! It’s totally FREE to sign up Telenet LCR service.

Q9: Is there any minimum contract term?

NO! Unlike other telecom companies who request at least 6 –12 months minimum contract, there is no minimum contract term for Telenet’s LCR because we are so confident about our high quality service.

Q10: Is there any minimum call charge for calls shorter than one minute?

No. Unlike BT's 4.2p/min minimum call charge, Telenet do not apply any minimum call charge to our customer. Considering in average 40% of business calls are less than 1 minute, Telenet's "bill by second" feature is another add-on to savings you can make through us.
